VISUAL CONFECTIONS studio
Each Visual Confection starts with a metal or plexiglass framework, which is decorated with a series of interwoven neighborhoods of clustered forms.
The ornamentation reflects the centeredness that rises from the contemplative act of arranging objects. Rather than being sorted into strict categories and taxonomies, the materials enjoy the freedom of intuitively ordered worlds.
The sculptures include finds from second-hand and antique stores, and small businesses that specialize in reclaim and reuse. There's always mix of new and vintage.
