Visual Confections Studio

This 3 minute and 30 second video is an example of a Visual Confections sculpture, which incorporates a small video screen. The audio is a composition combining my field recordings with instruments. This was in the installation, Souvenirs from the Realm of Happiness.

The Visual Confections sculptures integrate ornamentation and illumination to create a passport to a place of peaceful self-reflection.

Made with a range of materials including vintage and found objects, beads, wire, and topiary frameworks, the sculptures embody happiness and shimmer with color and light.

Colorful, twinkling LED lights embellish each piece; with or without the lights activated, they infuse a space with a vibrant palette covering the whole spectrum. The resulting decorative environments are designed to be experienced both close-up and at a distance.
The sculptures were a 4-year project
which included solo installations,
individual commissions, and
multi-media performances.
I'm currently developing variations inspired by the original designs.
